THE Actions for Democracy and Local Governance in collaboration with Forum Syd have advised the constitutional
Review Commission (CRC) to work in hand with Civil Societies
Organizations and community Radios in the coming phase in order to be
proficiency .
The
Forum Syd Organization’s Acting Director, Athanas Evarist says that
this strategy can convey a new countenance in transporting more people
participate to tender their views towards new constitutional review,
saying that also this way would clear out fears among the community and
create milieu friendly to these organizations to help CRC to work
effectively.
“The
Civil Societies Organizations (CSOs) and community radios are at the
communities areas. Both radios and CSOs have worked in communities for
long time so the experience gained can add value and transport
productivity in proving the tremendous exertion,” said Evarist.
The
Actions for Democracy and Local Governance (ADLG) executive director,
Jimmy Luhende said that his organization and Forum Syd revealed
significance of working with constitutional Review commission during the
research and monitoring.
He
noted that if the constitutional Review Commission’s would like to be
competent has to take the advise and the good pattern is the way these
organizations and radios have been working in Karagwe and Magu
districts.
Luhende
added that his organization and Forum Syd have been keeping research
and monitoring in the areas of Karagwe and Magu Districts in Mwanza and
Kagera regions. The monitoring was also done in Kisesa and Magu Town
wards.
While
other Monitoring and research done in Ukerewe Nansio, Kagunguli,
Ukara, Mukituntu (Mahande), Ilugwa, Murutunguru in Bwiro wards. In
Karagwe District the monitoring involved Bugene, Chonyonyo, Kayanga,
Nyakahanga and Ihanda District. In this case the monitoring has been
done in fourteen wards.
He
said that also additional information were collected in Isingiro,
Kamuli, Nkwenda wards in (Kyerwa District), Igurwa, Kibondo, Kituntu
(Karagwe)districts, Bigelima, and Kyaka ward in Misenyi
district. Adding said that the research implicated questionnaires for
about 472 responded at the same time information about questions and
answers to the Karagwe district council leaders has been made.
Evarist
said that is expecting more participation especially for those
marginalized groups (special groups) which the research found to have
been experiencing harms during the process exercise to proffer
constitutional Review opinions if the Tanzania Constitutional Review
commission will take into account the advise on new way to reach people
expectations.
